ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Director of People & Culture, you will work directly with the leadership team to advance our people strategy and to support all of our business teams across finance, operations, brands, design, engineering, editorial and communications. You will help us achieve optimal performance from both current and future employees to accelerate business growth and revenue. Your ultimate mission will be to ensure that the company has the right people, processes, and resources in place to exceed its goals

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Handle complex human resource matters with a heightened sense of calm and optimism
  • Serve as the culture representative of Inboxlab embodying the culture, values, and mission of the firm internally and externally
  • Lead recruiting initiatives across the organization and partner with the leadership team to develop unique plans to target, attract and hire the best talent
  • Build and nurture a talent community via outreach and through our website and social channels; Leverage this repository for current and future roles
  • Oversee all employee lifecycle processes from new hire to termination, embracing a culture of growth and developmentLead strategic initiatives involving internal talent management across the organization to grow and retain the Inboxlab team
  • Lead in People Development programs and trainings, as needed. This includes leading sessions of opportunities
  • Create, implement and remain up-to-date on Inboxlab’s Handbooks, employee-related policies, PTO, and benefit and payroll information, to assist employees with any inquiries or issues they may have
  • Provide advice and counsel to Business Leaders on all employee relations issues. Specifically, ensure optimal decisions are made through influencing, coaching, and providing subject matter expertise.
  • Provide insights regarding talent, competitive landscape, compensation, and new ways of working
  • Facilitate performance management program that aligns to business goals; monitoring performance evaluation process, promotions and merit increases as well as role and management changes
  • Manage People and Culture projects and internal communications regarding initiatives as determined by talent priorities
  • Review and benchmark against industry leaders to continuously contribute to the improvement of compensation, benefits and offerings, ensuring we remain competitive
  • Help assist in the creation of learning and development programs
  • Promote and create feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of People and Culture services and processes
  • Conduct formal and informal employee surveys, understanding employee opinions, engagement drivers, and culture indicators and anticipating their needs and concerns
  • Manage People and Culture and Talent Acquisition Team

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING

  • 7 – 10 years of human resources experience, preferably in a fast-growing startup environment or for a recruiting agency
  • 2+ years of director level management experience required, leading a fast growing teamAbility to present an uplifting and optimistic personality while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and business ethics
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values and HR principles, while ensuring the utmost consistency
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, goal setting, and successful executionExperience with recruiting and HR management tools
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and SlidesStrong problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and frequent overtime on short notice
