Director, People & Culture
As a Director, People & Culture at Vendavo, you will beresponsible for partnering with leaders in North America to define and deliver innovative, strategic initiatives and solutions that align with our organizational values. The successful Director, P&C is a key thought leader in many areas, including but not limited to employee engagement/experience, diagnosing talent, coaching/mentoring, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, you can hold your own in a conversation regarding compensation, payroll, benefits and other HR operational items. The Director, P&C understands “sphere of influence” and is able to build positive and professional relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, always maintaining an eye toward streamlining and simplifying interactions while also striving for operational excellence in all areas.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll spend time in our open-space, Denver-based office, San Jose, CA and Dallas, TX regularly supporting employees across North America.
In this role, you'll expand your expertise by:
- Partner with Leadership: Serves in a consultative capacity to facilitate the communication of HR initiatives. Coaches senior management on enhancement of leadership skills and proactively identifies staff morale and engagement issues. Participates in both onboarding and off boarding events to ensure all People interactions from first day to last day deliver upon our employee promise. Acts as a liaison with HR SMEs in the areas including, but not limited to: department restructuring, talent management, training delivery, staffing and compensation.
- Employee Experience: Works with CPO on enterprise-wide employee experience initiatives. Partners with Leadership to provide insights/guidance on employee experience results, and assists in action plan implementation.
- Succession Planning: Design, administer and actively participate in the identification and selection of the Successors and "Hi Potential" employees. Coach leaders on selection criteria/assessments and assist in identifying gaps.
- Performance Management: Partner with CPO to create and administer the Performance Management cycle, including developing communications and implementing process. Work with North American leadership to establish departmental goals. Facilitate leadership calibration.
- Employee Relations: Handles high-profile, highly sensitive and/or complex employee relations matters. Provides insights to Leadership regarding trends and issues.
- P&C Programs: Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs, recommends changes and implements "Best Practices" in policies, processes and procedures; communicates changes to the global organization. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and delivery of services.
- Subject Matter Expert: Provides advice and counsel managers on company policies, employment laws, and employee relation issues to ensure that management principles, objectives and programs are consistently practiced while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Thought Leadership: Assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development and drive the appropriate solutions in these areas.
What you'll add to Vendavo – as an individual and part of the broader team:
- 8-10 years leading Human Resources programs and working with leaders of an organization
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communication or other business-related field.
- Strong Performance Management, Compensation planning, Leadership development experience
- Some experience with immigration matters would be helpful, along with a working knowledge of benefits, talent acquisition and payroll.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with partners both in the US and abroad. Outstanding communication skills and ability to leverage technology to aid in this communication, is a must.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks/deadlines
- Business acumen, influencing skills, strategic thinking and ability to build excellent business relationships, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast paced, rigorous, dynamic and evolving environment. You need to bring your A-game and be ready to pivot on a moment’s notice.
- Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions. Intellectual curiosity is key to our growth. Constantly asking yourself “how can we do this better” is expected.
- Effective collaboration with a global HR team
- Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization
- Strong Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Effective communication skills - written, verbal and listening skills
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
