Director, Compensation & Benefits
As Ibotta grows, so too does our need to continue providing our employees competitive benefits, optimal total rewards and ample employee support, while providing our business leaders real-time people analytics. To ensure excellence in this arena, we need an analytically-minded, process-oriented, strategic and experienced Benefits, Payroll and Compensation leader to manage our payroll, benefits, HRIS and people analytics team and functions.
The Director of Compensation and Benefits will:
- Be a member of the Human Resources leadership team
- Oversee the flawless and timely execution of payroll, benefits administration, equity agreements and variable compensation
- Aggregate and analyze all employee-related data sets, including data from our ATS (Greenhouse), HRIS (Ceridian’s Dayforce), and employee surveys and interviews
- Utilize all analyses and insights to provide business partners and leaders with a keen understanding of how we can further enhance Ibotta’s employee experience
- See through to fruition the implementation and company-wide integration of our new HRIS, Dayforce
This individual is a strong people leader who excels in business processes, operational efficiencies, data management, systems administration, performance management, strategic decision making and cross-departmental collaboration and communication. This leader will be a pivotal business partner to all departments, providing analytical insight into the core components that contribute to a gratifying employee experience:
- Hiring best practices and timelines
- Total rewards philosophy, inclusive of variable compensation and equity
- Competitive benefits strategy
- Benchmarking amongst relevant peer groups
- Employee engagement sentiment
- Hiring and attrition rates
- Performance management trends
- Forward looking succession planning and career pathing
Key accountabilities:
- Lead Compensation and Benefits team in managing the essential functions of payroll, benefits administration, equity issuance and oversight, and variable compensation modeling and tracking
- Build a core compensation philosophy, inclusive of salary bands, variable compensation, equity issuance; to be regularly benchmarked and evaluated
- Manage our vendor relationships with benefits brokers, to include ongoing evaluation for competitive offerings and efficiencies
- Create “single source of truth” via a People Analytics data warehouse, inclusive of all data relating to Ibotta’s ATS (Greenhouse), HRIS (Dayforce), employee surveys and interviews; this data set will be used in ongoing analyses to better inform our people leaders of opportunities and best practices, as well as how to further enhance the employee experience
- Facilitate regular (monthly and quarterly) business reviews with business partners, department leads and executive team; showcase analyses pertaining to employee performance, engagement, tenure, compensation and career pathing
- Ensure that all employees are self-sufficient with employee systems (HRIS) and vendor touch points (benefit vendor websites), so as to attain all needed information (payroll, benefits, disability, performance data) in real time and without the support of People team assistance; create and deliver all employee communication, training guides, onboarding materials and ongoing support to ensure self-sufficiency
- Additional projects and initiatives as assigned
Essential Education and Skill sets:
- B.S./B.A., advanced education preferred
- 7-10+ years experience in HR operations functions, to include (but not limited to) compensation design; systems implementations; payroll and benefits administration; benefits broker negotiations; people analytics; process improvements
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Paylocity, Dayforce or other HR systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities concurrently
- Strong communication and presentations skills
- Proven operational excellence and systems improvements
- Strategic thinker and intellectually curious
- Strong people leadership and management skills
