The Compliance Manager, HR Products reports to the VP, Product Management and is responsible for providing compliance, regulatory, and legal guidance for the HR product line. This individual has both a legal and a business-orientation and is required to understand and balance regulatory requirements, compliance best practices and business constraints. This individual is responsible for guiding and leading teams consisting of matrixed employees from across the business.

The Manager, HR Products Compliance:

  • Works in collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, internal subject matter experts and outside counsel to ensure that KPA's HR content, product and services are compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Makes recommendations on enhancements and updates to KPA's HR software, content and training.
  • Works with Product Directors and Marketing team members to identify new market opportunities by leveraging KPA's distinctive legal and regulatory competencies.
  • Provides second tier support for the HR "Ask the Expert" help desk.
  • Creates content, individually and acts as the final editor for HR content created by others including training modules, program documents, policies, articles, position papers and blog posts with the goal of confirming KPA's regulatory expertise in HR compliance.
  • Leads onsite seminars, webinars, and workshops for KPA clients and KPA employees, teaching HR regulations and best practices

Education, Experience and Skills

  • HRCI or SHRM certification is required. A law degree with a background in labor and employment law is highly desired.
  • At least 7+years of experience in a senior level HR role or at least 2+ years working as an attorney in the area of labor and employment law.
  • Proven ability and desire to engage with clients, understand their needs and translate those needs clearly and articulately into practical guidance.
  • Outstanding communication skills up, down, and across the organization.
  • Ability to handle difficult and challenging discussions with poise and ease.
  • Persuasive with the ability to influence and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to create clarity and drive results in complex and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve challenges at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Ability to thrive not just survive in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.
