Communications Manager/People & Culture
Position Details:
The Communications Manager (People & Culture) will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing human capital communications strategies and initiatives to continuously elevate our culture, engage our employees, and provide streamlined HR output that enhances the employee experience at CSG.
This role collaborates extensively with HR to prepare materials in support of initiatives and specific human resource programs, processes, policies and related updates. Reinforces our desired culture and brand through consistent standards, design, preparation, production and maintenance of online and intranet content, and collaboration tools. Applies creativity and out of the box thinking, offering ideas on different approaches to resonate with shifting demographics, geographies and needs.
This individual will work closely with HR leaders and a variety of internal and external stakeholders and will report directly to the VP/Corporate Communications as part of our integrated internal communication and reputation management organization. This position will additionally take strategic and tactical guidance from the SVP of Human Resources, as its primary customer. Job Responsibilities
- Develop an internal HR communications strategy with a focus on increasing employee engagement and improving culture.
- Lead planning and execution of short and long-term internal communications plans that support people and culture initiatives, change management and HR programs and services, across the enterprise and at local levels.
- Ensure that programs and deliverables align with business objectives and company strategic initiatives, and also promote the brand through key themes and messages.
- Write and edit materials, including employee communications, intranet or blog posts, program descriptions/rollouts, organizational announcements and social content.
- Coordinate and publish/distribute content for a variety of communication channels and campaigns, including print, video scripts, publications, online and social media.
- Collaborate continuously with HR function to ensure alignment and support of strategies and initiatives and to ensure consistency of themes and messaging.
- Participate as an “extended” member of the HR Leadership Team, to gain understanding of priorities and strategic direction.
- Take guidance from SVP HR on annual Employee Survey communications management and related engagement work year-round.
- Define, measure and report success metrics.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or similar-related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of internal communications experience including interacting with senior-level management.
- Demonstrated skills in crafting communications plans, programs and campaigns in support of HR initiatives, programs or activities strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication, editing and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Thorough command of best practices, trends and issues in employee communications, using traditional and emerging platforms.
- Experience crafting messages for multiple channels and audiences, with measurable results.
- Versed in issues of corporate culture, employee engagement, change management, organizational development, and continuous improvement.
- Core understanding of HR programs, functions and their role within the enterprise.
- Highly creative, capable of generating ideas that engage and interest multiple audiences.
- Adept at communicating in innovative ways and across a wide range of channels and mediums, including print, video, web, and social media.
- Strong ethics and track record handling confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
- Able to foster effective, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization and to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders.
- Self-starter, able to manage multiple projects, prioritize and execute with excellence.
