About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Benefits and Compensation Specialist to join our team and be a key member of our People Operations team. You will be responsible for formulating strategy, benefits administration, project management and innovation in the benefits function. The ideal candidate will have experience in the US and EMEA in benefits and project management. This role requires a senior level of expertise with the ability to build team culture through thought-leadership and cross functional collaboration. As a contributing member of the People Operations team, this job is responsible for our global benefits design and strategy. In this role you will be responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s compensation and benefits programs. You will be responsible for ensuring that our compensation and benefit programs support the company’s strategic objectives and meet all legal requirements. This role provides strategic consultation services to the People Operations team with regards to benefits planning and projection for new states and potential new countries. Being a subject matter expert on global benefits and associated legislation, you’ll have experience working with a tech start up going through high growth and have a thorough understanding of the pace and challenges we typically face in this environment.
What you’ll do
The Benefits and Compensation Specialist plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the company’s compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. This is a hands-on role, and as such, this person will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries, and work directly with various internal stakeholders. As the Benefits/Compensation Specialist at Quantum Metric, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our Benefits Programs and Policies while concurrently owning and driving our strategy for the future of our Benefits Programs and offerings to ensure competitiveness and effectiveness. This role will help develop and administer all of QM’s Benefit packages, including healthcare, dental, vision, wellness, 401K and/or pension plans, Vacation (Paid Time Off), Sick days, and more. Ultimately, you will build fair and attractive compensation and benefits plans that help us improve employee satisfaction and create a productive workplace.

- Educate employees on QM’s Benefits by conducting meetings, answering benefits inquiries and handling all issues in a confidential and timely manner
- Drive benefits strategy for the whole organization in partnership with our brokers to ensure that our offerings are cost effective and competitive, and form benefits programs that contain multiple employee touch points over the course of the year
- Develop benefit communication materials and trainings for new and ongoing programs
- Own all benefits data company wide, including entry and integration within our HRIS and insurance carrier systems
- Partner with employees, brokers and vendors to provide a high level of customer service at all times; serve as the escalation point for all employee benefit programs
- Manage and oversee Leave of Absences as well as Worker’s Compensation programs
- Drive compliance and reconciliation activities in partnership with internal teams and external vendors; lead regular benefit audits and compliance reporting (1095-C, 5500, NDT, etc.)
- Create and maintain benefits documentation and process guidelines
- You will work closely with our People team, key business stakeholders and external partners to build a strong, diverse, inclusive benefits brand.
- You will leverage strong project management and excellent communication skills to ensure that our benefits meet employee needs, are market competitive and provide the highest level of support!
- Lead the design, development and implementation of QM’s North American Benefits programs, projects and processes.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of global benefits retirement and benefits laws and regulations to drive strategy, philosophy, and compliance efforts
- Work closely with the People and Finance teams to create a comprehensive strategy for the global benefits function, establishing clear goals and delivery plans.
- Achieve our financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; monitoring costs; analyzing variances.
- Analyze complex data to support benefit analysis and proposals.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the external benefits market using data as a core driver of future benefit design.
- Work on key People strategic projects either leading and/or supporting, working with global stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Own our full suite of wellness and perks offerings, ensuring these programs support QM’s values, priorities, and changing business needs across the globe
- Develop tight reporting to understand return on investment and make recommendations on any needed shifts in strategy or spend
- Work with external consultants to benchmark and assess current programs and policies to determine best in class offerings and understand any gaps in our plans, and costs associated with potential shifts to more competitive offerings
- Think creatively about employee wellbeing and inclusion
- Evaluate and negotiate with third party vendors and providers with a focus on costs and the highest level of service to QM people across the globe.
- Lead the team in continuing to develop a global approach to wellness and evaluate the ROI on all programs
What you will need to succeed
- 5+ years of experience in benefits/compensation development, management and implementation in a large, fast paced organization
- Wellness or benefits experience required
- Experience with Zenefits or a similar HRIS platform
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with numbers is a must
- Proven ability to work with diverse employee populations and evaluate varying needs
- Comfort with high ambiguity and ability to adapt to frequent change and growth
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Self-directed and able to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously
- Experience supporting global benefits operations. Must be flexible to provide employee support in various time zones
- Strong communication and presentation skills and can collaborate, develop partnerships with brokers, managers, and employees
