Hi! 👋 I'm Chris, Director of Marketing at TLDR.
I'm looking for a Growth Marketing Lead to supercharge our paid acquisition engine and drive explosive growth across our subscriber and advertiser funnels. You'll be our paid media architect: continuously experimenting, optimizing, and scaling campaigns while pioneering new channels that others haven't discovered yet.
This role requires a rare blend of analytical rigor, creative instincts, and technical fluency. You'll leverage AI tools to rapidly produce and test ad creative, dive deep into performance data to find optimization opportunities, and fearlessly explore unconventional channels to unlock new growth vectors.
Who We Are
TLDR is a media company redefining how professionals consume industry news. Our portfolio of 12+ newsletters spans tech, AI, cybersecurity, and more, delivering bite-sized, trusted content to a rapidly growing audience of 6+ million decision-makers.
We're scaling fast through a combination of organic growth and paid acquisition. We need a Growth Marketing Lead who can take our paid efforts to the next level, someone who gets excited about turning $1 into $3 and isn't satisfied until they've tested every angle, creative, and channel.
🎯 What You'll Do
Own Paid Performance End-to-End: Manage and optimize campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and other core channels to hit aggressive CAC targets
Pioneer New Acquisition Channels: Source and test unconventional paid opportunities — niche newsletters, Reddit communities, podcast sponsorships, and platforms others haven't cracked yet
Build a Creative Testing Machine: Develop and manage our ad creative pipeline, using AI tools like Midjourney, Runway, and ChatGPT to rapidly produce and iterate on ad variants
Obsess Over the Numbers: Live in the data, running rigorous A/B tests, analyzing cohort performance, and making rapid optimization decisions based on subscriber LTV and advertiser acquisition metrics
Scale What Works, Kill What Doesn't: Maintain a portfolio approach to channel testing with clear success criteria and aggressive budget reallocation
Collaborate on Growth Strategy: Partner with Product, Data, and Sales teams to align paid efforts with broader growth initiatives and product launches
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Constantly research emerging platforms, ad formats, and AI tools that could give us an edge
🧠 What We're Looking For
3+ years of hands-on experience managing significant paid media budgets ($100k+/month) with proven ROI
Deep expertise in Meta Ads, with working knowledge of LinkedIn and emerging platforms
Strong creative instincts and experience using AI tools for ad creation
Data-driven mindset, able to identify and improve key metrics
Track record of discovering and scaling non-obvious acquisition channels
Self-starter mentality: you don't wait for direction, you find opportunities and run with them
Excellent communication skills to share learnings and align stakeholders
Bonus: Basic knowledge of Hubspot to track advertiser acquisition and WordPress to create landing pages.
