About the role:
As a Gen AI Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing our AI-driven capabilities—especially around predictive scheduling, capacity insights, and intelligent automation—helping teams make smarter, faster decisions within Tempo’s platform.
What you’ll do:
Build & optimize Gen-AI models for tasks such as predictive scheduling, workload forecasting, and capacity management within Jira.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and UX teams to translate user challenges into scalable AI-driven solutions.
Integrate AI features such as Capacity Insights—our AI-powered solution processing Jira, calendar, and Git activity signals to surface valuable insights.
Deploy and monitor machine learning models, ensuring they are performant, secure, interpretable, and aligned with Tempo’s modular SPM platform.
Innovate by experimenting with new generative AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering) for user experience enhancements like automated report generation or strategy summaries.
Collaborate on AI infrastructure, ensuring best practices in MLOps, model versioning, and data governance.
Who you are:
Experience: 3+ years in engineering with demonstrable experience building, deploying, and scaling AI/ML solutions.
Technical Skills:
Fullstack Engineer – React, Typescript, Node, etc.
Database experience – Nonrelational, Mongo, Postgres, etc.
Experience with large system development
Proficiency in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), large language model stacks, and prompt engineering.
Strong software engineering skills in Python, version control (Git), and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Familiar with MLOps practices (model tracking, CI/CD, monitoring) and developing interpretable AI systems.
Analytical & Product Mindset: Ability to translate complex problems into impactful AI features; data-driven decision-making.
Communication & Collaboration: Clear communicator who thrives in agile, cross-functional environments and shares Tempo's value-driven culture.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience working with Jira, Atlassian ecosystem, or portfolio management tools.
Knowledge of strategic portfolio management (SPM) domain.
Prior work involving predictive scheduling, Monte Carlo simulations, or capacity planning solutions.
Familiarity with fast-changing environments and modular platforms like Tempo’s offering.
