Freelance Marketing Copywriter/Content Developer

We are looking for an experienced freelance writer to perform a variety of activities directly related to the organization’s Marketing functions.  Freelancer MUST have extensive healthcare writing experience. 

Under general supervision, this freelancer will produce content in accordance with brand strategy to support the company’s consumer-facing website, sales collateral and on-going corporate needs. This role includes copywriting, project management, and general creative design.

This position partners with Product Development and Marcom to conceive, copy write and produce high-quality product collateral (digital and print) as well as sales enablement assets. This role also supports corporate marketing initiatives with emphasis on brand voice and exceptional copywriting.  Initial core projects include writing our consumer-facing marketing website, outcome/customer narratives and partner collateral.  Additional projects will be ongoing freelance (estimated 15-20 hours/week, 4-12 months).  Qualified candidates must provide writing samples or access to a portfolio of work

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for copywriting of product marketing collateral, sales enablement materials (website, email communications and blog content), and corporate brand assets, including flyers, brochures, infographics, presentation materials and other marketing needs.
  • Perform effective intake and discovery of business needs, understand unique selling propositions and work directly with company stakeholders as needed.
  • Execute effectively on project management and creative review of own projects.
  • Perform creative review of additional projects as needed by stakeholder to provide quality assurance on deliverables, while meeting business objectives, brand strategy and adherence to standards.
  • Provide editorial, copywriting and proofreading support to the marketing team.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and standards, with the purpose of helping the organization present a consistent and unified brand.
  • Work to enrich the company’s position on a national level, with sensitivity to regional and local requirements for customization.
  • Work on special projects and assignments as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Excellent and effective copywriting skills, evidenced by portfolio
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a marketing copywriter
  • Experience with B2B and B2C communication; and adaptable to different business and cultural contexts.
  • Extensive Healthcare copywriting experience – particularly translating clinical information into marketing communication
  • Prior experience in writing for healthcare industry preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Trello, iMeet, Dropbox), team collaboration tools (Slack), and Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).  
  • Good design eye and light graphic design skills to help polish final deliverables in Powerpoint and Word documents.
  • Always bringing your POV to the discussion and work diligently to develop the right message, the right voice, the right tone, the right story
  • Passionate about delivering excellence 
  • Ability to effectively represent the company to outside parties.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Must be a self-starter with a high degree of creative initiative and strong attention to detail.
