VP of Finance & Strategy
Denver, CO - This is a leadership role at one of the most exciting and fast-growing consumer companies in Denver. We’re looking for a financial leader who can accelerate our growth even further.
The VP of Finance and Strategy will partner directly with the CEO to set the strategy for the organization and lead the tactical execution of all finance, accounting, people operations functions. This role will be instrumental in driving this next evolution of the company with the vision of the role evolving to become CFO.
This leader will need to be both strategic and willing to roll up their sleeves with the day-to-day operation and numbers of the business. They can hit the ground running with experience in (1) high growth eCommerce companies (2) strategic decision making leveraging financial modeling, data analysis and customer economic models, (3) Organizational development, people operations, and HR (4) inventory management & demand planning (5) GAAP Accounting for eCommerce businesses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leverage financial and customer economic models to develop the business strategy to drive aggressive, profitable growth
- Partner with the CEO on organizational development and evolution
- Manage budgeting processing and ongoing financial forecasting
- Develop and maintain relationships with board members, lending institutions, shareholders and the financial community
- Intimately understand business performance and work cross-functionally to drive decisions on strategic investments while effectively managing risk and overhead
- Oversee and support key financial, accounting, POps and operations workflows
- Lead and manage the Director of Accounting and POps Manager
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 10-15 years of experience of progressive accounting and finance experience including 3 years of management experience
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting or a leadership role on an internal team
- Experience with technology and e-commerce
- Advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, modeling, reporting and analysis
- Experience with privately-owned or P/E backed high growth companies from mid to large-size
- Experience overseeing People Operations and HR functions
- Proven track record of success driving processes and facilitating progressive organizational change
- Experience with data analysis, SQL and/or BI tools a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Experience with Netsuite a plus
- Base Compensation Range - $165-200k plus bonus opportunity
