VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE CONTROLLER

Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President Corporate Controller will drive all accounting, tax, audit and related compliance functions of this Company. The ideal candidate will possess understanding of SaaS and/or payments business models, excellent analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and self-initiative. This position is a hands-on role which requires a detail oriented personality, but also the ability to see the big picture and provide analytical insight to the business results that management can rely on to make informed decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE: 

  • The role will be directly responsible for all accounting, technical accounting, consolidations, revenue recognition, corporate and international tax, banking, payables, procurement, payroll for the organization, along with financial controls.
  • Manage and develop a strong team of Accounting professionals.
  • Drive the annual audit and tax return processes, maintaining strong relationships with auditors.
  • Drive continued refinement of the Company’s close, audit, and reporting processes and timeframes to prepare the Company for our continued growth.
  • Continue implementation, development and improvement of process automation and systems development including general ledger and accounting systems, and working with peers on billing, procurement and other systems.
  • Establish and drive quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Manage and direct the SaaS and usage-based revenue recognition accounting model and respective systems and tools.
  • Managing implementation, documentation and ongoing success for Company’s accounting systems
  • Drive continuous business process improvement and automation.
  • Direct the continued implementation and improvement of technical tools to reduce manual business processes.
  • Design and implement proper manual and IT controls necessary for a company at our stage.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, enforcing and maintaining policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Bachelors in Accounting Required, Masters Preferred
  • CPA Required.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, and public company experience required.
  • 5+ years of senior management experience.
  • Several years of Big Four or national accounting firm experience, preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of GAAP and overall Compliance rule sets.
  • Experience with SaaS model revenue recognition and accounting processes in a Company of $100M or more of ARR.
  • Experience with a fast-growing company, navigating significant growth in short periods of time.
  • Experience with implementation of policies, processes and systems in support of continued company growth and .
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Experience overseeing tax including sales and use tax.
  • Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships and partner with executive management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to creatively solve issues.
  • Confident, self-starter, who is a “builder” and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Attention to detail, takes pride in their craft and is obsessed with excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

We are actively hiring in San Diego, CA and Denver, CO. Majority of our employees work remotely but we have an office in the RINO district if employees choose to come in.
