What you’ll do:

Write and review workers’ compensation insurance policies; review and resolve policy concerns. Utilize underwriting expertise, customer relations and business operations skills to promote Company’s retention, finance and business objectives.

What you can expect:

  • Determine proper coverage by utilizing worker comp knowledge and NCCI manual rules to ensure state statutes are followed
  • Review application and polices in order to classify risks. Communicate effectively in writing the rationale for classification including policyholder complaint letters that ensures customer’s understanding
  • Interpret and explain information regarding worker’s comp policies, premium, regulatory and legislative issues to stakeholders resolving any questions/ issues immediately
  • Promote and build strong working relationships with policyholders and agents demonstrating support for Company’s new business, financial and retention goals
  • Formulate effective business solutions, sometimes for specific needs providing high level of customer service to stakeholders
  • Participate in policyholder and agent seminars
  • Assist associate underwriters and account managers with specific business needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the table:

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Relevant work experience (similar kind of work at a similar level of work as described in the essential duties) may be substituted for the bachelor's degree. Completion of a degree is encouraged and supported. Two or more years’ underwriting experience required. Must be able to communicate in writing and verbally with all levels of individuals both internally and externally.
