Why our Staff Accountant is important:

Our Trade Staff Accountant will help scale the Accounting function and support the needs of our growing company.

Reporting to the AR, Credit, and Trade Manager, the Staff Accountant will be instrumental in collaborating and coordinating with multiple components of a growing accounting organization. Additional responsibilities include maintaining strong customer relationships, assisting in the monthly and quarterly close and special projects as assigned. Success in this role will come from taking proactive ownership of assigned responsibilities, forging strong relationships across the organization, having high attention to detail, and having a curious mindset to continually improve.

How you will contribute to our success:

• Assist with implementation of merging accounting functions across multiple brands.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by communication with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Understand and optimize the day-to-day aspects of financial operations.
• Execute general ledger accounting including maintenance and posting to the general ledger.
• Support the month end and quarter end close and financial reporting for individual brands
• Own tasks within the month-end/year-end close processes.
• Assist the AR, Credit, and Trade Manager in continuing efforts to accelerate the accounting close process, along with automation projects, establishing and maintaining internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare weekly reports for presentation to the sales team and executive management
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Draft and maintain A/R aging schedules on a regular basis.
• Perform cash management functions and process accounts receivable
• Maintain and orderly accounting system and ensure timely receipt of payments
• Assist in researching and preparing technical accounting reports or memos based on GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
• Advise the AR, Credit, and Trade Manager and Senior Manager Corporate Treasury immediately of any errors, irregularities, significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.
• Assist in developing procedures to improve efficiency and maintain company accounting procedures and processes.
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes, GAAP principles.

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required (master’s preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP ideal.
• Ideal candidate will possess 1-2+ years’ accounting experience including strong audit experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Ross, and Sage preferred. Experience with other similar software systems would substitute.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to do hands-on work
