The Tax Analyst, based out of our Broomfield, CO headquarters, working with the Senior Tax Analyst and Senior Tax Manager, will support the day-to-day activities of the tax function.  In this role the candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting with the preparation of the quarterly and year-end tax provision and related financial reporting, the Federal and State income tax compliance, sales and use and property tax compliance, and responding to tax notices and audits.  Candidate should be comfortable creating and maintaining the necessary reporting and compliance processes as well as working with other functions to implement such processes.  The candidate will be exposed to, and support, complex international tax planning strategies and transfer pricing structures.   Webroot has a small, but highly technical and leveraged finance department.  The candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to handle a diverse range of projects and responsibilities.  The ideal candidate should be seeking a challenge, looking for an opportunity to gain exposure to the full spectrum of tax subject matter and to develop expertise in all areas of tax specialization.

 

Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assist with preparation of Federal, State, and local income tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of Federal and State R&D credit calculation
  • Assist with sales/use tax compliance outsourcing
  • Assist with multistate property tax compliance
  • Assist with foreign indirect tax compliance (i.e. Canada GST, Ireland and UK VAT, Australia GST)
  • Assist with preparation of the income tax provision and related financial statement disclosures
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and preparation of journal entries
  • Interact with accounting, finance, legal and business units to establish tax related processes, accomplish tax objectives, and champion tax agenda
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Tax Department's SOX internal control procedures and documentation
  • Research, analyze and interpret federal, state and local tax laws

Skills and experience required or preferred:

  • Bachelor degree specialization in accounting
  • Specialization in tax and/or finance a plus, masters or JD a plus
  • 1-3 years experience in tax or accounting, but open to candidates graduating from a tax program.
