Tax Accountant
The Tax Accountant is involved in all areas of tax, including US federal and state corporate and partnership income tax, financial reporting obligations, transfer pricing, and sales and use tax. This position reports to the Tax Director and performs duties and helps manage tax workstreams to ensure compliance with tax laws and financial reporting requirements in an accurate and timely fashion. This position also assists in tax analysis and research related to tax issues, specific projects, and transactions as they arise.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in all areas of the Company's Tax Function (excluding payroll tax)
- Play key role in preparing schedules and calculations related to the Company's federal, state, and local income tax returns and Year End Income Tax Provision
- Support financial statement audit by assisting with tax related requests / documentation
- Review tax deliverables prepared external tax service providers
- Research tax questions / issues and assist with special tax projects
- Document tax processes and procedures
- Identify process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
KEY DUTIES
- Prepare supporting schedules and calculations related to the Company's Canada, US federal, state, and local income tax returns and Year End Income Tax Provision
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and returns related to the Company's sales and use tax compliance obligations
- Prepare quarterly reconciliation of sales tax payable G/L account
- Prepare quarterly transfer pricing calculations
- Maintain tax records and ensure tax filing calendars / trackers are up to date
- Assist in managing and responding to tax notices
- Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or related field
- At least 2-3 years of tax accounting and compliance experience
- Experience or knowledge with preparing corporate income tax returns
- Experience or knowledge with financial statement audits and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of US GAAP and common tax technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification and/or MS in Tax preferred
- Public Accounting experience preferred

Estimated salary range for this position: $65,930 - $85,000The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
