Tax Accountant - Indirect
Job Description:
Position Scope:
In this key position, this person will assist the Senior Manager- Indirect Taxes, in the day-to-day maintenance of all Indirect Tax activities for North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file US Corporation sales & use and personal property tax returns.
- Prepare and file Canadian Harmonized Sales, Goods & Services and Provincial Sales Tax returns.
- Reconcile various sales & use tax accounts on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Review, validate, and advise exemption certificate management.
- Execute all deliverables by adhering to standard accounting principles and compliance requirements.
- Perform research and planning on a pro-active, reactive, and as-directed basis.
- Provide timely responses to questions and issues generated by or impacting operating personnel.
- Manage sales and use tax audits by gathering requested data, conducting thorough analysis of data and tax laws, and resolving open issues.
- Review and respond to notices from various taxing authorities.

Experience:
- 3-5 years of diverse tax experience preferably in indirect taxes.
Education:
- 4-year college degree in Accounting or related field.
- Working towards advanced degree in Accounting or CPA (a plus).
