Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant connects the Finance team to other Pax8 departments, as well as our vendors and partners. They focus on cost analysis and utilize strong excel skills to reconcile large data sets. The Accountant will play a critical role in building and scaling accounting processes as Pax8 grows.
Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
- Participate in month-end close processes specifically related to revenue and cost of goods sold, including:
- Monthly Vendor invoice reconciliations
- Profit margin analysis
- Cost accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Regularly communicate with Pax8’s vendors to ensure costs are accurate, including following up on requested credits
- Work with internal Billing Specialists and Engineering team to ensure accurate Pax8 billing
- Partner with internal Product team to facilitate the financial requirements of new vendor additions and existing vendor process changes
- Review pricing exception agreements and reconcile any exceptions to the vendor invoices
- Provide monthly reporting to management related to analysis and findings
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least one (1) year professional experience; two (2) years preferred
- Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, etc.)
- Highly analytical and able to work with large data sets
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Ability to be highly organized and productive
- Ability to proactively solve problems using critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated acute attention to detail
- Ability to be self-motivated and independent
Required Education & Certifications:
- A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $55,000 or more depending on experience
*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
