Staff Accountant

Reporting to the senior accountant, who reports directly to the VP, Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist in the daily operations of the Accounting Dept. This includes but is not limited to participating in monthly closings, assist with accounts payable and receivable processing, assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, and maintaining subsidiary ledgers. This is an incredible opportunity for a highly motivated individual to obtain healthcare, private equity and start up experience.

Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be exposed to the full accounting cycle, annual audits, taxes and experience working for a company that recently received their series B funding from CapitalG (Owned By Alphabet Inc).

Essential Functions

• Analyze corporate financial operations to ensure business efficiency
• Prepare journal entries related to recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries such as actual and accrued payroll, benefit allocations, transactions, prepaids and accruals
• Maintain general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
• Prepare financial statements
• Coordinate with Audit and Tax firm along with management to answer any questions or resolve any issues
• Assist with annual audit and tax filings
• Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances.
• Assist with corporate reporting requirements.
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
• Perform various accounting projects for the department.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1-3 years' experience in a corporate accounting role (healthcare industry preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office products
• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting
• Experience with an ERP system (Preferable with Oracle NetSuite, Stampli, and Expensify)
• Detailed Oriented and resourceful
• Strong Analytic Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active CPA license or pursuing CPA
• High attention to detail and ownership over work
• Comfortable working cross-functionally
• Adaptable, Collaborative, Agile
• Ability to execute with limited supervision
• Accounts Payable, Payroll, GL accounting, or internal audit experience

Annual Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $62,000.00

Strive Health offers competitive compensation and benefits. An annual performance bonus, determined by company and individual performance, is available for many roles and aligned to Strive Health guidelines.
