The Accounting Senior Manager is a key member of our accounting team. Primary responsibilities include leading a team to ensure compliance with US GAAP, including documentation of all applicable processes, procedures and controls over revenue, accounts receivable, and other areas. This person will work directly with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Product teams to review arrangements that could impact revenue recognition and will drive best practice solutions to ensure optimal execution. This person will be responsible for actively managing the close process and developing a streamlined revenue operations framework. As an integral leader in the accounting and finance organization, this person will provide leadership by managing deliverables, setting expectations, meeting deadlines, providing ongoing performance feedback, and developing goal setting.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Lead the month-end close activities for the revenue accounting team including, preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling between different systems, and preparing and reviewing account reconciliations
· Own the team's SOX documentation and controls
· Perform technical accounting research and lead the team's documentation of significant contracts and policies with formal memos
· Be the key point person for internal and external audit for related areas
· Partner with FP&A to develop revenue forecasts
· Provide variance explanations for monthly reporting package
· Lead system implementations and automation efforts to increase efficiency
· Use results to recommend and implement changes to business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge and experience with software and/or SaaS-based or subscription revenue recognition preferred
· Knowledge of and experience with ASC 606 is required
· NetSuite and Salesforce experience a plus
· A background in understanding internal controls and operational effectiveness
· Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's in Accounting required
· CPA is a plus
· 7+ years' work experience, including managerial experience
· Public accounting experience is a plus
Additional Requirements and Details:
· Travel required up to 10% of the time.
· Located and working from an office location (once it is safe to do so)
· Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
· Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
· Frequent sitting and/or standing.
