SENIOR ACOUNTANT - INTERNATIONAL

The Role:


The Senior Accountant - International will manage and/or perform all aspects of the accounting, financial reporting, and audit-support functions for PopSockets in Latin America and Europe. These activities will include general ledger accounting, AP & AR functions, monthly close, account reconciliations, vendor payments, intercompany accounting, variance analysis, and coordination with third-party accounting firms, among other tasks. You will report to the International Accounting Manager in Boulder and will work closely with others in the organization to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits.


The ideal candidate will be proficient in US GAAP, while also having a working understanding of IFRS. This person is a self-starter, a critical-thinker and problem-solver, has a high level of integrity, and is goal- and deadline-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 Responsible for the overall accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial accounting close in Latin America and Europe

  • Journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate appropriate approval and coding of supplier/vendor invoices
  • Monitor outstanding AP and ensure timely payments to vendors / suppliers
  • Reconcile inter-company balances between subsidiaries
  • Record monthly payroll based on service provider reports
  • Coordinate with third-party accounting firms that support us in Latin America
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures including the review and implementation of process and system changes
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Identify internal control and process gaps, and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
  • Other technical / ad-hoc accounting projects, as needed

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in public or private accounting required
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional accreditation strongly preferred
  • Inventory / manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Intercompany accounting experience strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience managing a staff of professionals preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and flexible mind-set
  • Ability to work cross functionally to solve problems
  • Self-starter, dependable and possessing the ability to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge
  • Spanish language skills a plus, but not necessary

Annual base salary range in U.S. Dollars:  $70,000 to $80,000 Plus 20% bonus
