The Opportunity

Marketo has an amazing opportunity for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our fast-growing software company. This position will report to our Operational and Technical Accounting Manager who will invest time in the Senior Accountant's professional growth and development. The Senior Accountant will be a key player in ensuring a timely financial month end close. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fun, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

This position will reside in our newly opened and freshly remodeled downtown Denver office, with a "Silicon Valley" atmosphere where the business is creating a Global Center of Excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure accurate and timely financial month end close activities
• Prepare monthly account balance reconciliations for accounts such as: prepaids and accruals
• Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff accountant and accounts payable specialist
• Ability to manage the vendor master file which includes adding vendors in Coupa and Intacct and ensuring accurate data in both systems
• Manage the purchase order and invoice maintenance required in Coupa
• Prepare monthly inter-company transactions and reconciliations
• Research accounting transactions and ensure necessary corrections and adjustments are made
• Assist in monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist with process and system improvement projects
• Interact with cross-functional teams
• Miscellaneous projects as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in accounting related roles performing tasks related to the General Ledger such as monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and a detail orientated personality
• Ability to problem solve, both from an accounting and system perspective
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional project and time management skills
• Experience with large ERP system is desired
