This role sits within “Corporate Functions”. The engine of Funding Circle - we keep the business running. Whatever the discipline, we turn dreams into reality and help small businesses to win.
What will you be doing?
Funding Circle is looking for an extraordinary FP&A Senior Manager to lead the financial planning and analysis function for Funding Circle’s US business. The position may be based in either Denver or San Francisco and will have responsibility for partnering with senior business leaders to understand the drivers of revenue, cost and profitability, and help drive better decision making through improved financial information.
You will oversee the processes for budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting and variance analysis. You will be a key player in modeling and analyzing the company’s financial assets and cash flows. This is a high-visibility role and will interact with senior business and finance leaders throughout the company. You will manage 2 staff and will report to the US Finance Director.
- Engages with business partners to both understand their numbers and to optimize business results. Understands and is able to recommend action based on the link between financial metrics and good business results.
- Comfortable creating and implementing financial and nonfinancial performance measurements. Able to design innovative and insightful financial metrics.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their financial needs, support company leadership to implement financial and operational goals, and apply financial insights to improve decision-making
- Build and maintain sophisticated forecasting and analytical models, including for forecasting of loan originations and for valuation and cash flows for complex financial instruments.
- Effectively engage with both local and global accounting and treasury teams to complete analysis and reporting
- Provide financial guidance and insights for product, pricing and other business decisions
- Develop and manage a team of finance professionals
- Engage with global FP&A and Finance staff to ensure that cross-company impacts of decisions and results are understood, and to improve global financial metrics and reporting.
Are you?
- Strong experience in partnering with senior business leaders to understand the financial drivers of their business
- 6+ years of experience in FP&A with growing responsibility and 2+ years of people management experience
- Advanced Excel financial modeling, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate finance theory, quantitative analysis and key financial metrics
- BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other quantitative disciplines
- Experience working with accounting and/or planning software; NetSuite experience a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills. Ability to present financial information in an engaging and visually effective manner.
- Highly collaborative work style and ability to multi-task and work under pressure with multiple deadlines
- Experience in financial services and in working in a global business a major plus
