Position Purpose:

In this Senior Financial Analyst role, you will be responsible for working closely with various operations to gather complex data, compile into efficient formats and create critical knowledge and ongoing efficiencies for the business.  The purpose of this position is to accurately understand, account for and report all transactions to move the business forward.  The role will involve daily data extraction, analysis, research, problem resolution and presentation of results.  You will assist in developing internal and external financial statements and reports while being involved in processes around budget development.  Your success in this role will provide for unlimited growth opportunity at MycoTechnology.

Essential Duties:

  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Heavy internal and external client interaction and consultation to include financial reports, financial presentations, operating results, etc.
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Own, manage and analyze fixed asset and inventory accounting processes.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new processes/special projects, controls and procedures to enhance quality, accuracy and efficiency of the department and company.
  • Prepares reports and presentations for MycoTechnology Board of Directors, management and investors by querying data sets, taking that information and boiling into a useful executive summary.
  • Support month-end close process and assist in financial/operational reporting.
  • Download and review complex operational transactions.
  • Work closely across departments and with other members of the Finance group on projects as needed, not limited to Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Human Resources and R&D.
  • Support fixed asset accounting including CIP tracking, deprecation calculations, capital reporting and committed cost on capital projects.
  • Ensure that all company transactions are conducted in an ethical and prudent manner and audits employee compliance of company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance. Advanced degree in business related field and/or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in finance and/or accounting.
  • Experience in ERP management, Expert Excel and Power Point skills required, SQL a plus.
  • SAP/Large ERP System experience and Advanced Excel required.
  • Problem solving, process improvement, cost accounting, technical accounting, statistical analysis, financial planning and forecasting.
  • Reporting research results, requirements analysis and financial decisions.
  • High level of self-organization and individual drive.
