Webroot is seeking an experienced Sr. Data Analyst to actively manage, analyze, and cross functionally evangelize our Finance Subscription Metrics.  This person will have extensive experience with subscription metrics that include Churn, Net Retention, Cohorts, Decay Rates, Annual Recurring Revenue, Renewal Rates, and Customer Acquisition Costs.  They will build and visualize these metrics in tools including Tableau and Microsoft Excel or Power Point, to make the data readily available for stakeholders and decision makers.  This person will have the ability to conduct detailed analysis of the source systems as new trends arise, actively solving issues while working cross functionally with data owners.  They will also be responsible for forecasting subscription metrics.  Strong communication skills and priority management will be critical to succeed in this fast paced environment.  This role will report to the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for visualizing the corporate subscription metrics using Tableau, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
  • Build and maintain dashboards for cross functional use catering to all levels of audience including executive teams
  • Work cross-functionally with the Business Intelligence team to ensure appropriate use of both developed and source data
  • Use Tableau and SQL to analyze data using different sources
  • Write complex formulas and calculated fields using Tableau and SQL
  • Run queries in SQL to analyze source tables and validate trends
  • Dig into underlying data tables to quickly find anomalies and work cross functionally towards bug fixes
  • Analyze results and evangelize the use of our corporate subscription metrics
  • Create processes to ensure audience is best using tools and reports available to them
  • Generate presentations used by all levels of employees including executives
  • Manage forecast models related to our subscription metrics and Annual Recurring Revenue
  • Generate reports on an ad-hoc basis using Microsoft Excel (ability to quickly import necessary data via CSV or connection in the file)
  • Clearly represent stakeholders and dashboard users while working with data owners to ensure that underlying data is maintained for reporting integrity
  • Analyze new data sets and create processes for reporting and cross functional use

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, economics or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data and financial analysis with a SaaS metric based company
  • Extensive knowledge and use of Tableau
  • Ability to write complex queries in SQL
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills to build forecasting models
  • A self-starter who is dedicated with exceptional critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to quickly understand relationships existing between numbers and business operations
  • Strong quantitative analytics skills, with expertise in Excel/Numbers
  • Proven ability to synthesize insights from data
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to generate strong internal and external relationships – likes being a go-to person
  • Proven ability to focus on what is usable vs. getting stuck too far in the details – knowing when to move on
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Proven approach to problem solving and eagerness to adjust to rapidly-changing business priorities and challenges
  • Ability to create complex formulas in Tableau and Microsoft Excel to automate the use of the data
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of SalesForce, Oracle, Marketo a plus
