The Opportunity

Marketo has an amazing opportunity for a dynamic Credit and Collections Analyst, to join our fast-growing software company. This position will report to our Manager, Accounts Receivable who will invest time in the professional growth and development of the selected candidate. The team is directly engaged in the quote-to-cash process from initially evaluating customer credit line requests, processing orders to be invoiced, collection of accounts receivable, and application of customer payments. The Analyst will manage timely cash collections over an assigned portfolio of high visibility and large balance accounts. The Analyst work with the Sales organization to identify credit risk and underwrite customer credit lines, as well as provide support to the customer support teams to ensure timely contract renewals. This position will interact with billing to resolve invoicing issues/disputes and will coordinate cash applications to ensure proper customer records. Finally, candidates must be prepared to work in a fun, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

This position will reside in our newly opened and freshly remodeled downtown Denver office, with a "Silicon Valley" atmosphere where the business is creating a Global Center of Excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate new and existing client relationships by completing a thorough risk assessment including analysis and interpretation of financials including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements
  • Annual credit review (or as needed) of existing client portfolio and recommend credit limits adjustments
  • Collaborate with the sales team on options for customers with credit worthiness issues
  • Establish and maintain client relationships (internal and external) providing world class service for every transaction and interaction
  • Timely management of strategic client portfolios including addressing and preventing past due account balances through interaction with customers and strategizing with internal customer relationship partners
  • Ensure accurate customer records through proper account reconciliations, payment application, recording of adjustments (write-offs, credit memos, etc.), name changes, bill-to and ship-to addresses, etc.
  • Weekly portfolio reporting of collections and credit performance
  • Assist Client Financial Services Collections Specialist with portfolio management to ensure accounts are being addressed and resolved timely
  • Participate in process improvement projects with evidence based findings and solutions
  • Primary interface between billing team and customers in complex billing scenarios
  • Partner with various functions in the quote-to-cash process including Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Success, and various finance functions to resolve client issues timely and accurately

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor degree in business discipline preferred – Finance, Accounting, or Administration (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years credit and collection analyst experience in a business to business, high growth environment
  • Proven ability to perform credit and risk assessment while promoting sales and protecting against risk
  • Excellent customer service skills while working to resolve payment issues
  • Superior oral and written communication skills when communicating with internal and external parties
  • Strong analytical skills supported by sound reasoning and logic
  • Proven ability to set daily priorities and work within given deadlines
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and is flexible and adaptable to competing priorities
  • Promoter of teamwork to accomplish group goals
  • Software knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Intacct (or similar ERP), SalesForce (or similar CRM), HighRadius (or similar collections tools), Dun and Bradstreet (or similar credit reporting tools)
