The HomeAdvisor Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our hard-working, driven, collaborative and fun team. As a Senior Accountant with our General Ledger group, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for GL accounts
- Reviewing month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for certain staff
- Reviewing capitalized labor costs for internally developed software projects, including looking at the project status and ensuring appropriate treatment, considering impairment and project timelines
- Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Maintaining financial security by following internal controls and policies
- Answering accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
- Assisting with implementing technical accounting guidance that complies with US GAAP
- Coordinating necessary accounting documentation of significant transactions in cooperation with accounting management and external auditors
- Preparing technical memos documenting accounting conclusions
- Maintaining customer and management confidence by keeping financial information confidential
- Ad hoc analysis and project work as directed by Management
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing additional tasks
For this role, we’re seeking:
- 2-4 years of professional accounting experience, with advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business; a higher degree and/or CPA required
- Demonstrable basic understanding of, and ability to apply, US GAAP
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong sense of curiosity
- Experience with NetSuite and/or Hyperion accounting systems is a plus
