The Sales Compensation Analyst will be responsible for managing the quarterly sales compensation operations from Sales Compensation Plan and Policy distribution, maintaining and processing sales data for crediting and commissions in Xactly Incent, and providing monthly or quarterly accruals and commission payroll to accounting.  This will be a highly visible role and will work closely with cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, Sales Operations, Systems and Sales Management. An ideal candidate will be a well-rounded top performer who is curious in how things work, is willing to roll-up their sleeves, and will be a key contributor in a high- growth environment. 

 

The ideal candidate will also have experience with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Access, SAP and other reporting tools and will have an understanding of Sales Compensation Plan design.  Additional ongoing maintenance of sales territories and account assignments, Salesforce account assignments, etc., will be required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy, distribution and acceptance of sales plan documents to the sales organization
  • Own set-up of sales data in Xactly Incent for new hires, promotion and terminations and, annually, new compensation plans
  • Reconcile SFDC and SAP reports with FP&A data and sales account assignments and review with management team
  • Meet quarter-end close deadlines and deliver accruals and commission payroll to accounting
  • Administer Draws, MBOs, quarterly bonuses and SPIFF payouts
  • Acts as a commission SME to address sales inquiries and partner with Sales Management, Sales Ops, HR and/or Finance to resolve any issues.
  • Provide Sales Plan overview and Xactly Incent Training to the sales organization
  • Maintain sales to customer mapping in SAP and Salesforce and ensure data entry accuracy of sales team as it relates to commissions data
  • Proactively explore process improvement and collaborate with the SFDC team to ensure the health of the DELTA process
  • Update Incent rules and formulas to adapt to new plan designs each year and perform testing of updated rules and results
  • Calculate quarterly and annual quota attainment results and produce quota attainment and expense analysis for senior executives
  • Provide ad hoc commissions analysis and additional reporting and support as required
  • Serve as project manager on annual Sales Compensation Design & Planning
  • Perform ongoing research to develop additional experience and expertise in sales compensation design strategies and best practices
  • Serve as consultant for future systems designs in order to enable accurate metrics and data gathering throughout the sales process

Basic Position Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4-5 years’ experience in sales compensation plan design or commissions plan administration

Preferred Position Requirements

  • Must be highly motivated within a proven track record for achieving results
  • Extreme attention to detail and passion for accuracy in all reporting and data gathering
  • Commitment to accurate payment calculations and extreme patience in fielding sales inquiries and requests from the field sales team
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and with a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Strong excel skill and analytic experience; relational database experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Xactly, Salesforce.com, SAP, Business Objects, Tableau a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Sales Operations experience a plus
