We are currently seeking a highly driven Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting team in Denver, Colorado. Performance Objectives

• Understanding of routine and complex contracts and how they apply to billing and revenue recognition
• Should be able to post journal entries, like reclassing different revenue accounts, or reclassing ST/LT deferred revenue
• Should be able to understand doubtful debt allowance, what may constitute as a revenue reversal vs bad debt.
• On an as needed basis, collaborate with product owners, sales, salesops, and other executives to provide adhoc reporting and metrics
• Take on more responsibility relating to revenue recognition, technical accounting matters, implementing new processes and improving current ones.
• Prepare routine/monthly and ad hoc reports, reconciliations, analysis, and forecasts.
• Use critical thinking skills to solve challenging business problems and add value.
• Help with potential systems integration coming in 2020

Competitive Candidate Profile

• Someone who has intuition and understanding of how to investigate when things are not adding up or appear to have a disconnect.
• Someone who can attempt to tackle a situation on their own first, then ask for help when stumped (after initial training)
• Looking for someone who is independent and able to pick up tasks that should be items like tasks done in previous jobs (ie account recons, reclassing JEs, etc)
• Someone who has intermediate to advanced Excel skills. We need the usual, VLookups, Pivot Tables, some IF/Then formulas. Someone who can look at a spreadsheet and figure out what is going on and take it over.
• 3+ years’ experience as a revenue accountant (not just billing and AR experience)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline. Equivalent combination of Associate’s degree and relevant work experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of Salesforce.com (or other CRM tools) and Netsuite or Zuora a plus.
