The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of the pricing strategy and value-capturing activities at both the strategic and tactical levels across a large global product portfolio. This position provides analysis and recommendations for business questions related to market opportunity and delivery, new product pricing models, product pricing change roll-outs, and customer-facing activities such as market research and the development and deployment of tools and programs to measure ROI and recognize exceptional customer performance. 

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate effectively across teams, including Product Management, Product Development, Customer Operations, Finance, Marketing, and IT and across levels of the organization to:

  • Guide and shape the overall product pricing strategy
  • Translate pricing strategies into specific initiatives to drive implementation and execution
  • Develop, implement, and maintain pricing programs that enhance pricing margins
  • Identify pricing models for new acquisitions and for international markets 
  • Identify key performance indicators for GHX solutions that can be consistently used as the basis for value measurement and customer recognition
  • Streamline the capture and analysis of data to document customer value and product performance
  • Work with cross-functional leadership to develop processes and guidelines for managing custom pricing requests

KEY DUTIES

  • Conduct analysis of market, competitive, and internal inputs to align pricing with overall business strategy and increase revenue and profit margins
  • Extract, prepare, and manipulate data and information from multiple internal and external sources to develop and execute pricing strategies and perform basic pricing analysis
  • Deploy advanced analytics of internal and external intelligence to support the development, communication, and monitoring of price recommendations and guardrails for deals and products
  • Develop and communicate clear price recommendations and guidelines relative to standardized product pricing and customization
  • Provide quantitative assessments and strategic direction for business questions posed by the Product Management team
  • Provide analytical support and strategic recommendations for pricing models within the planning stages of the PLM process
  • Provide detailed quantitative analysis to measure ROI of GHX products and services and to support new product recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Understanding of customer deal economics, financial modeling techniques, and related pricing strategies
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization including with senior business and functional leaders  
  • Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), preferably with working knowledge of a database
  • Excellent analytical (business/systems) and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work successfully in a team
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening), facilitation, and project management skills
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation
  • Able and willing to travel up to 10% of time

Required Education, Certifications, and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Business, or related discipline, or a combination of education and related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in analytical role with technology projects
  • 3+ years of pricing or consulting experience
  • 3+ years of experience with project management
  • Experience implementing pricing processes, systems, and controls

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • SaaS industry experience
  • Experience using Salesforce
