Do you want to play a role in global commerce? 

Our Property Accounting team is responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of property revenue and expenses. We strive to operate as a cohesive team across the three major regions in the U.S. and be a trusted resource to for the global accounting team, the property management organization and operations teams.  As one of the three Managers of Property Accounting, you will be responsible for a region of the United States and working alongside your fellow managers and supervisor (VP, Property Accounting) in applying consistent policies and processes and looking for process improvements. You will be given the opportunity to interact with various global accounting team members and manage multiple assignments in a complex and fast-paced environment. You should have a strong background in Accounting and Internal Controls, demonstrate leadership ability and a desire to learn and develop others.

What’s needed in order to do that:

• Ensure accounting policies and procedures are applied uniformly between regions and compliant with US GAAP
• Responsible for  operational processes for regional team deadlines and adherence to internal controls
• Monthly and quarterly close for given region
• Work alongside two regional managers and VP, Property accounting to document accounting policies and processes and work with international property accounting teams to sync processes, as applicable
• Primary accounting contact for given region
• Identify issues and propose resolution
• Identify and champion processes improvements
• Ensure team members are well trained and confident in processes and procedures
• Work with training lead in accounting and RPMs to assist with training for the field
• Coach and mentor all members of team (able to evaluate team effectively, create effective development plan for team members, give regular feedback effectively to team and ensure corrective action, if applicable)
• Work independently and resolve issues/questions regarding day-to-day operational tasks (able to answer questions for routine work)

• 3 - 5 years of experience supervising or managing a team
• Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of accounting experience
• Able to manage team of 5-10 accountants
• Exhibit Accounting Leadership Principles, refer to attached
• Strong situational management skills (able to evaluate situation and adjust actions / application of policy)
• Proactive communication with internal customers
