The Role: The Investment Analyst will support the Investment Committee to promote the best financial outcomes for clients and Defined Contribution plan participants. Personal Capital offers the leading Personal Financial Management software, used by over 2 million people and directly manages over $10B as an RIA. We also have a partnership with a major Defined Contribution Administrator offering an innovative solution to large companies providing personalized glide paths within 401k plans. This role will focus largely on the DC partnership, but also contribute to the core business.

 

Specific duties include:

 

  • Be the hands on leader in calibrating, and testing our proprietary glide path selection engine
  • Be the primary source of contact for our DC Administration partner regarding detailed quantitative questions on methodology related to investment algorithm and approach
  • Work with partner to provide research to support product and marketing sales campaigns to Fortune 500 companies, and facilitate conversations with plan sponsors
  • Represent Personal Capital in Plan Sponsor sales meetings, and be able to compellingly talk through our investment approach and algorithm, and how it interacts with the product, while addressing Plan Sponsor concerns
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts into easily understandable benefits
  • Work with product and engineering teams to potentially enhance our methodology, user experience, or data fields consumed
  • Conduct 401k fund allocation recommendations for individual core RIA business clients
  • Support Investment Committee as needed.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in their current and/or previous roles, including significant experience dealing with complex investment management and/or defined contribution plan management. They will be able to execute at a high standard in a fast paced environment while being flexible, self-motivated, and effective at working with multiple groups across the company. Light to moderate travel may be required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven record of accomplishment and productivity
  • Comfortable in client facing role and supporting sales process
  • 7+ years investment industry experience. CFP® and/or CFA designation preferred
  • Experience with Defined Contribution plans preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail. Excellent operational, organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage and process complex operational work
  • Exceptional written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Passion for helping people have better financial lives

 

Location: Denver, Colorado. San Francisco a possibility.
