Job Description
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for overseeing the auditing of operational processes and financial controls.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the internal audit function including identifying and auditing financial and operating risk to improve processes and establish financial control.
- Oversee planning and performance of audits to determine compliance with company and/or regulatory requirements.
- Analyze practices, plan and/or complex data & provide solutions to non-compliant practices.
- Communicate to the audit committee and management internal audit projects and results.
- Engage the audit team to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Test existing financial and operating controls and recommend improvements.
- Planning and testing compliance with SOX 404 for accounting and financial processes and systems.
- Update and maintain policies and procedures, audit report content/format, expense and time reporting, and the quality assurance procedures programs.
- Manage the coordination of interim and year-end audits
- Oversee SOX 404 testing with our external auditors and our internal staff who provide support to the external auditors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting or relevant industry. Master’s Degree is desirable but not required.
- 7+ years of accounting experience with 3 or more years of internal auditing experience.
- Subject Matter Expert of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Demonstrated strong orientation toward internal control, risk assessment, and operational auditing; Real Estate/multi-family experience preferred
- Strong presence and experience in presenting to senior executives
- Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly understand various financial parameters
- Ability to work independently within a team-oriented culture
Additional Information

- Expected pay range of $120,000 - $180,000, base salary, plus a lucrative bonus structure aligned to achievement of company’s transaction goals. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
