JOB SUMMARY

 The GL Accountant will be an integral part of the Accounting team and ensure that the month-end close process is as efficient and effective as possible.  The main emphasis for this position will be timely and accurate transactional accounting, including month-end close duties including journal-entry preparation and monthly reconciliation of accounts. The GL Accountant will be asked to help with ad hoc projects, where necessary.  This position will report to, and work closely with, the Assistant Controller.

 What you'll do:

 Transactional Accounting

  • Perform day to day transactional accounting duties related to the following processes:
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Accounts Payable
    • Corporate Credit Cards

Monthly Close

  • Contribute to three-day close
  • Prepare journal entries for month-end close
  • Prepare and analyze monthly general ledger account reconciliations

Internal Control Preparation

  • Document accounting processes including current control structure
  • Ensure compliance with accounting process documentation, and identify opportunities to improve upon existing internal control structure

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of year-end audit schedules and pull relevant support
  • Variance analysis
  • Assist in financial due diligence as needed
  • Assist with Budget to Actual reviews and support Reporting and Budget processes
  • Demonstrate understanding of multi-currency accounting
  • Prepare and analyze ad hoc requests

 What you bring to Tendril:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation aesthetics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work largely independently when given clear direction and to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to problem solving and getting to the right answer via personal initiative, perseverance, and teamwork
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn Accounting Software quickly
