Every business collects data, whether it's sales figures, financial ratios, market research or product line growth. Our analyst's job is to take that data and leverage it to help Wishlist Rewards make better business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Complete revenue recognition process on a monthly basis alongside our part-time bookkeeper and assist with month-end close of financial statements

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking for Wishlist on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Analyze and create financial models

  • Report on financial and operational performance for leadership review

  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis to identify trends, and make recommendations

  • Reconcile vendor expenses and perform margin analysis on a monthly basis

  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of reports, tools, and dashboards

  • Maintain detailed and accurate retention metrics and identify opportunities for increasing retention to leadership

  •  Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools 

  •  Evaluate our procedures, practices and operations, and come up with ideas for process improvements

  • Report directly to the CEO

  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

  • Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to leadership

  • Work directly with CRO and Director of Marketing to analyze marketing and sales operations metrics, implement improvements and ensure scalability

Requirements

  • Analytical Skills: You’ll work with large amounts of data, facts, figures, and number crunching. You will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions.

  • Master Multi-tasker: Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and strong organizational skills to set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. You will need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas and findings.

  • Critical Thinking: Outstanding problem-solving skills, complemented by an inquisitive and curious nature.

  • Attention to Detail: Data is precise. You’ll have to make sure you are vigilant in your analysis to come to correct conclusions.

  • Process Advocate: Ability to identify, champion, develop, and implement enhancements to policies and processes.

  • Team Player: Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a dynamic team environment with all levels of the organization from the Board of Directors to leadership and peers.

  • Independent: Ability to take initiative and function autonomously in a fast-moving environment.

  • Technical Mastery: High technical mastery of Excel a must. Familiarity with SQL or other querying language and Quickbooks Online desired.

  • Enthusiasm: Must be enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and have a desire to jump-in to help us exceed all goals.

    Preferences (+1)

  • Experience dealing with GAAP accounting

  • Familiarity with general ledger level accounting and month-end/year-end close process

  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online
