Financial Analyst
Job Description
Granicus is currently looking for a highly analytical and energetic Financial Analyst to join the Finance Team, reporting to the Director of FP&A. The Financial Analyst will be an integral team member in supporting the business in its key strategic projects and initiatives as we continue to grow and scale. This multi-department facing position will offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while also growing your communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with the Director of FP&A in the budgeting and planning processes, and deliver value-added analysis to our stakeholders. You must have a love for numbers and problem-solving, and want to make a positive impact with your work.
What You Get To Do:
- Assist the Director of FP&A and CFO in key business projects and initiatives
- Support the Finance and Executive Teams in M&A deal activity as well as assisting in the integration of newly acquired companies
- Play an active role alongside the Director of FP&A in the annual budgeting and planning process
- Learn and use Adaptive Insights for budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Develop and use modelling skills to support data-driven decision making
- Provide operational analysis and reporting designed to drive increased awareness into departmental and total company performance
- Discover, explore and recommend innovative ways of making the business more efficient and profitable
- Provide back-up support to other Finance team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements
What We Need In You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 3-4+ years of experience in financial planning, forecasting, and/or budgeting
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated but also able to collaborate successfully with different teams across the organization
- A record of accomplishment and delivery against objectives
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Salesforce
- Excellent systems skills/accounting software package proficiency
- Experience in SaaS/software would set you apart
- Ability to travel (nationally; 4-6 trips/year)
