Financial Analyst, Corporate Strategy
Position Details:
The Financial Analyst works closely with Finance and the Business Unit leads to drive the company’s investment priorities. The Financial Analyst is responsible for gathering assumptions, performing financial analysis and creating materials to support and track CSG’s major investment decisions. The Financial Analyst role, within CSG’s Corporate Strategy group, has broad exposure across functional groups and senior management.
The role will require strong project management, business analytics, strategic thinking, problem solving, executive communications and consensus building. There will be significant hands-on work requiring detailed market, industry and product analysis, business case and financial modeling, information synthesis, and preparation and presentation of report material.
The majority of time will be spent developing and managing business cases to support major strategic investments. Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support management decisions
- Perform forecasting, valuation and scenario analysis
- Conduct research, cost studies and benchmarking to support financial and operational assumptions
- Assist members of the finance team and other functional teams in developing processes and policies for new business initiatives
- Monitor business performance against business case assumptions
- Perform in-depth post-mortem reviews and audits
- Prepare materials for presentations for senior management and other stakeholders as needed
- Work cross-functionally across business units
Education
- Bachelor Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- MBA or other business qualification preferred
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience working in corporate finance, investment banking, or management consulting
- Advanced financial modeling skills
- Experience working across different geographies and cultures
- Experience working on strategy in a B2B software environment preferred

- Ability to work and communicate with senior management to understand strategic direction and investment priorities
- Ability to engage cross-functionally to understand needs and communicate findings
- Sharp mind with strong analytical and numeric skills, proficient in financial modeling and analysis
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships within the Corporate Strategy team, the broader company including senior executives, as well as with external business partners
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner
- Self-starter with desire to learn
- Adept in standard office software tools, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills
- Solid understanding of corporate finance
- Ability to think globally in relation to the Company’s strategic plan
- Working knowledge of international telecom/media market (BSS/OSS sector, in particular) preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment
