Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting and Projects to lead our efforts to optimize Accounting and Business processes throughout the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Enable the alignment of business strategies, resources and capabilities in order to deliver optimal solutions to support the business.
- Collaborate with finance and operations on a daily basis to ensure processes and team members are working in lock step for all transactions.
- Responsible for ensuring transactions are planned and executed appropriately from an accounting and business perceptive, including contract drafting to ensuring the transaction is appropriately reflected in public filings, including directing all inputs and functions involved.
- Provides guidance to leadership on financial related matters and decisions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the business SME’s to leverage their knowledge and expertise to facilitate improved business processes in order to drive optimization and simplification in accordance with stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborate with business SME’s to deliver innovative and automated solutions for complex accounting transactions.
- Directs the implementation of accounting best practices relative to design, configuration and implementation.
- Oversees policy and procedures to ensure structure and appropriate roll-out.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required.
- 8+ or more years of related management experience.
- Public Company experience
- Ability and proof of leading team and projects successfully
- Technical Accounting experience
- Ability to work cross functionally, especially with operations and finance to communicate goals and deliverables and ensure that all steps in a project are addressed
- Complex accounting principles and procedures and their application to a variety of accounting transactions and problems.
- Principles, methods, and procedures of governmental accounting, budgeting, and financial management.
- Elements of accounting controls and internal control structures and their application to government accounting functions.
- Standards for governmental accounting and financial reporting, promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the recommended practices of Governmental Financial Officers Association (GFOA).
- CPA preferred

- Expected pay of $140,000 - $160,000. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
