What is this opportunity?



Director Procurement

As Procurement Director, you'll lead the vendor management function for our technology-based business. You’ll be responsible for establishing our procurement strategy, and building, implementing and managing our procurement principals and processes, in order to optimize our vendor spend and achieve our business and financial objectives. You’ll achieve this with a strong focus on cost, quality and continuous improvement in vendor performance, and by engaging our internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive adoption.



More specifically, you’ll...

- Develop and cross-functionally vet/align vendor management strategies and principals, while gaining internal and external commitment to successfully scale vendor and business operations 

- Manage contracts, the contracting process and an associated governance structure in line with achieving our business strategy, annual plans, objectives, key results and initiatives

- Build and continually improve a full procurement process, including RFPs, and ensure compliance

- Form strong, collaborative, internal relationships and partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate and address vendor requirements, including volume, payments, incentives, etc.

- Establish and grow robust vendor partnerships, leveraging relationships to achieve desired outcomes

- Directly negotiate or assist in negotiating contract terms with vendors

- Ensure all contracts are obtained, fully executed and properly stored in a contract repository

- Proactively monitor, track, analyze, report and manage vendor performance/effectiveness against business requirements, contract terms and key metrics, using dashboards, scorecards, etc.

- Drive continuous vendor performance improvement, and develop continuity/recovery plans

- Lead research discovery and adoption of new vendors, technologies, innovation, etc.



What are we requiring for this role?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Demonstrable success in aligning procurement strategies, processes and outcomes with business priorities and financial targets

- Demonstrable success in strategically sourcing vendors, directly/indirectly facilitating/negotiating contracts—particularly large software/SAAS contracts

- Outstanding ability to consult, partner and influence internal stakeholders and external vendors

- Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate across all organizational levels and functions

- Strong business acumen and financial analysis/reporting skills

Education and/or Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field

- 8+ years of experience in a technology procurement role requiring strategic sourcing, contract negotiating and performance analysis/improvement
