Challenges You Will Solve

Red Canary is seeking an experienced Director of FP&A with demonstrated success in helping to take a company through a high growth phase with increasing complexity. We are looking for a seasoned leader to be the “authority” of the numbers and financial models, and to help advance the company’s financial management and maturity. The Director of FP&A, will report to the CFO and partner with department leaders to provide guidance that will enable the company to achieve our growth plans.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with leadership to formulate the short/long term financial and strategic plan
  • Work with the executive team and department leaders to build their annual budgets and forecasts
  • Produce models to project long term growth and determine the impacting business factors
  • Take point on collection of useful data from across the company, to analyze provide insights to senior leadership into what’s working and what’s not, and drive strategy for improved performance
  • Analyze financial and operational results against industry benchmarks to better understand company performance
  • Utilizing BI tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance
  • Utilizing FP&A planning systems to iterate on forecast scenarios
  • Communicate to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance
  • Communicate results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations
  • Supply departments with revenue and expense targets and monitor progress
  • Provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results
  • Review operations and recommend new productivity or cost saving initiatives
  • Prepare business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions
  • Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement
  • Evaluate previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets

What You'll Bring

  • You have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or comparable business degree; MBA/MSA and/or CPA a plus.
  • You have 8-10 years of financial analysis experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in SaaS
  • Public Company Corporate experience preferred
  • Private Company fast paced tech start up experience a nice-to-have
  • You are detail oriented, well organized, proactive, and self-motivating
  • You have a strong mastery of Microsoft Excel with strong quantitative capabilities
  • Significant analytical skills including utilization of BI / reporting and FP&A planning tools (Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, etc.)
  • You understand relationships are key and have strong interpersonal skills
  • You are an experienced people leader. You are someone who takes pride in mentoring and supporting the careers of others and are comfortable providing direction and feedback to your team.
  • You are a translator. You are able to communicate in both numbers and words, able to translate effectively between the two languages.
  • You are collaborative and a listener. You excel at helping others distill complex budgetary or financial modeling needs into simple and easy to execute models/plans
  • You can thrive in a smaller company environment and love the pace of a true startup

Targeted base salary range: $140,000 - 175,000 (depending on experience) + bonus eligibility and equity
