Position Description
Zayo is seeking a Director of Finance to join the Zayo Networks organization reporting directly to the segment’s Director of Finance. This position plays a pivotal role in actively providing value to Zayo Networks and requires an individual with diverse analytical skills and interests. Responsibilities
Lead a lean team that owns the financial statements of a product group while providing excellent ad hoc analysis for the product SVP
Advise product SVP on operational and business changes to improve financial performance
Prepare and maintain in-depth analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting of financial and business performance
Prepare and maintain monthly/quarterly/annual forecasting and reporting records of financial and business performance to support company-wide financial and operational goals, initiatives and objectives
Own month-end and quarter-end close and reporting responsibilities
Own the preparation of presentations (internal and external) of financial and operational business results and analysis
Own contractual relationships with vendors
Advanced ability to translate contractual provisions into financial and accounting figures and forecasts
Can communicate and train others on a business proposition or organizational philosophy
Maintain data fidelity in our financial databases
Can test the strength of our systems and existing automation to find new opportunities for operational and financial efficiency; can create and lead an IT project to completion
Train and develop junior staff
Advanced understanding of GAAP principles
Can teach and train financial and accounting principles to non-finance and non-accounting staff
Own the capital spend analysis, providing detailed budget performance for Executives
Can have advanced communication with Executives and leaders in other functional groups; viewed as a partner to the business
Other financial and operational analysis and duties as needed
Qualifications
Typically, this role is for individuals with professional experience
Strong financial modeling, forecasting and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Access optional

Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively
Attention to detail is a must
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Ability to work extended hours (some evenings and weekends, when necessary) and achieve results in a deadline driven environment

Must be a self-motivator
