We help colleges and universities grow – through building online programs to extend their reach to students all over the world.  Elsmere is headquartered in the Cherry Creek area of Denver and works with select universities around the country on line programs and other growth initiatives.  Elsmere Education manages the strategy, marketing, recruiting, program development and retention efforts for its partner universities.  With relationships defined by transparency, Elsmere Education is growing quickly – this is a ground-floor opportunity to be part of something big.

 

We are seeking a Director of Finance (DOF). The DOF will report directly to the President of Elsmere Education and help with all aspects of financial reporting and accounting.  The DOF must have an extensive background with excel and financial modeling, business analysis and reporting plus a strong initiative to assist in driving key reporting across the organization.  The DOF must have a technical background and comfort with data analytics to assist EEI in the interface with clients’ CRM and the company’s financial and reporting systems.

 

Finally, the DOF must be excited about the opportunity to work in an early stage company.  People interested in hierarchy, titles and long meetings need not apply.  Elsmere Education was created by entrepreneurs – and gains energy from other entrepreneurs.  Now, we are seeking an entrepreneurial minded team member with marketing experience to join the team.  There are no rules, standards or limits for this role – and lots of upside as we grow the company.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Finance

  • Prepare annual detailed operating budget
  • Update monthly actual versus budget operating and financial performance
  • Monitor and project weekly Company’s cash flow
  • Prepare and track monthly department budgets
  • Track actual versus budget program performance by key metrics (e.g. marketing &retention)
  • Build/Run high-level program models for potential new programs
  • For each program detailed reconciliation of market spend by vendor (LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, FB, etc.) to budget and key metrics
  • Update monthly latest estimate for each program performance on both an academic year (for clients) and calendar year (for EEI)

 

 

Qualifications

  • 6 to 10 years of demonstrated success including financial modeling and report writing
  • Undergraduate degree, graduate work (desired)
  • Technical capabilities with Excel, CRM (salesforce) and email systems are must
  • Detail-oriented
  • Funny, good reader/writer, entrepreneurial, talented, easily bored, competitive

  • Ability to develop strategic plans + solutions (immediate and long term)
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and work/ learn independently and in a team environment

  • Xero (financial accounting software), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Salesforce
