Director, Corporate Accounting & Consolidations

Position Description
The Director of Corporate Accounting & Consolidations will be responsible for oversight of the consolidating month end close process as well as corporate accounting. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Corporate Accounting, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting, and will interact closely with the Accounting Department, Finance, and Tax.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the accounting for compensation and benefits, corporate cost centers, intercompany, shared cost allocations, P&L re-alignment entries, revaluations of foreign currency accounts, joint ventures, equity investments
- Understand all intercompany transactions and allocations amongst segments and legal entities
- Monitor company-wide month-end close process to ensure company-wide deadlines are met including coordination and communication with segment controllers
- Assist with integration of acquired entities as needed
- Oversee SOX controls related to capital leases, straight-line leases, variance analysis, amongst other controls
- Identification and resolution of issues during the month-end close process to maintain close deadlines
- Review segment month-end management reporting schedules and variance analyses
- Prepare consolidated quarterly variance analysis
- Support Tax team with inter-country transactions and reporting
- Support Zayo Professional Services close process
- Assist with statutory accounting, audits, and reporting as needed
- Oversee completion and submission of governmental agency reporting
- Assist with management of the external quarterly review and annual audit process, including preparation of various audit support requests and coordination of obtaining support requests from the segment controllers and accountants
- Subject matter expert on account and hierarchy structure within Oracle and Prophix
- Assist in initiating, implementing and executing process improvements and controls
- Manage, train, provide coaching and feedback to direct reports
- Participate in other projects as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years of supervisory experience;
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting;
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP;
- Experience in consolidation with multiple entities, statutory accounting, and integration of acquired entities strongly preferred
- Telecom industry and public accounting experience preferred;
- CPA preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Oracle, Prophix or Salesforce, a plus;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel;
- Strong analytical and organizational skills;
- Attention to detail and highly effective planning, organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to work effectively across the Company’s various business units and locations;
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and exercise judgment in fast-paced and changing environment;
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends;
- Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and produce quality work while dealing with interruptions;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
