Director, Assistant Controller
Description
The candidate should have a CPA or Equivalent with 7+ years of experience includes Big 4/Regional Public accounting and relevant SaaS company industry experience. We are looking for someone that enjoys solving challenging problems and is looking for a broad set of accounting-related responsibilities. The right person will be ambitious with leadership qualities, who wants to learn and grow professionally at a growing, healthcare technology company.
Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees global monthly and annual financial statement close process
- Supervise 3-4 accounting managers and 1 staff
- Manage and oversees revenue accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable/billing and accounts payable
- Possesses a depth knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standard
- SAAS revenue experience, including subscription billing and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Review month-end account reconciliations to ensure the financial reporting is accurate and in accordance with documented accounting policies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (FP&A, sales operations, service delivery, product, IT etc.) to ensure complete, timely, and accurate accounting close
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Manage the annual audit with external auditors
- Perform technical financial accounting research and evaluate the impact to a company’s accounting policies, procedures and disclosures
- Participate and or lead system implementations and process improvement initiatives
- Develop and nurture positive relationships cross-functionally between accounting, finance, procurement, legal, product, sales, sales operations etc.
- Develop, implement and maintains systems, procedures and policies, to ensure adherence to company guidelines
- Supervise, train, mentor and develop staff
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at every level of the organization.
Requirements
- BS/BA in accounting
- CPA certification required
- Public accounting experience required
- Seven plus years of experience in an accounting leadership role
- Solid knowledge of GAAP/technical accounting principles and compliance including working knowledge of ASC 606
- Data analysis/management capabilities
- People management experience with the ability to mentor, develop and motivate employees
- The ability to think strategically and efficiently
- Comfortable working in a dynamic fast paced environment that went through rapid change will be imperative.
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy when both preparing and reviewing work
- Experience with an enterprise ERP and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi- task and meet deadlines

- Experience with international accounting and experience with foreign exchange calculations
