Job Description:
The Data Quality and Process Manager will lead initiatives to establish best practices to ensure optimal data quality. This position will be responsible for proactively defining new processes as well as evaluating opportunities for remediation for existing data quality issues. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, instituting a data quality framework and governance model, performing process analysis, assigning roles and responsibilities related to data quality, defining controls and audits, implementing quality initiatives, setting objectives and measures, and continuous improvement. This position reports to the Director of Analytics and Quality and works closely with other functions both within and outside of HR.
Vision/Leadership 40%
- Have overall responsibility for implementation and oversight of our data quality management functions
- Define roles and responsibilities related to data quality and governance
- Establish and maintain governance philosophy and practices for the data quality function
- Leads the data quality component of HR initiatives as well as other processes that could affect HR data
- Lead the effort to define data charter policies, standards, and practices to achieve the required level of consistency and quality to meet business needs
- Partner with Arrow HR leadership to set the vision, mission, and strategic direction for data management and quality
- Manage relationships with all process owners to ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities
Audit / Control 20%
- Manages audit programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance
- Perform evaluations, define quality measures, develops methods for monitoring performance, and drives corrective actions as required.
- Manages the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of data
- Designs methods to track and trend key data quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
- Holds accountable and influences, both directly and indirectly, roles that impact data quality
Managerial/Technical 40%
- Establish change management and documentation procedures, including SOPs, forms, etc.
- Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives
- Develop and present measurements to be included in dashboards that communicate performance to leadership
- Interface with data stewards and owners to address data quality issues and develop goals, standards, processes, and technologies
- Develops and oversees the implementation of quality procedures, processes, documentation, and validations of new processes
- Point of contact to investigate data quality issues and identify root cause
- Recommend changes to processes and procedures that will improve data quality
- Provide training on data quality related initiatives, processes, and topics
- Identifies and initiates improvement projects to reduce risk and improve quality, while limiting waste and inefficiency
- Develop a thorough understanding of how Arrow HR systems work with one another as well as other Arrow systems and vendors that interface with HR
- Develop and analyze data and system specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy
- Establish programs to drive ongoing continuous improvement
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor degree required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Quality and Process management or Continuous Improvement, to include leveraging tools and methodologies for successful continuous improvement and quality control
- Understanding of all facets of data governance including data architecture, data quality, and data transformation
- Critical thinking and data driven decision-making capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership and influence across multiple functions
- Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable process changes that realize significant business value
- Requires strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Self-motivated and self-managed with high degree of honesty and integrity
- Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to be self-directed but also work as a member of a team to support achievement of company’s goals.
- Be able to plan and lead projects to completion
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail oriented with exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with root cause analysis
- Experience with ERP systems
- Able to effectively present to large groups and leadership
- Capable of establishing processes, policies, and recommendations for ensuring data quality
- HR experience is a plus but not required
- Excited and motivated to continuously learn and improve skill set
- Technical writing skills
