  • Job Summary

    As a Corporate Finance Senior Analyst you will be at the heart of our business as the analytical engine to provide insights into financial and operational performance. You will act as a business partner to the organization in developing analysis and reporting that enables strategic decision support to meet our growth objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly complex global environment bridging the gap across our portfolio.

    The Corporate Finance Senior Analyst will have routine exposure to the Maxar Executive Leadership team and opportunities to work closely across the organization on a variety of strategic initiatives focused on value creation – Strategy, Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury, and M&A integration.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Global Performance Management:

    • Act as finance partner to functional executive management team and business unit controllers
    • Support development and preparation of business scorecard performance reporting
    • Define and measure key performance indicators within operational and financial data
    • Prepare monthly reviews of financial metrics, analyze variances, synthesize business drivers
    • Perform ad-hoc management reporting and analysis to support CEO & CFO

     

    Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Maintain and continuously improve driver-based P&L forecasting model across business lines
    • Assist in the evaluation and execution of key decisions regarding the capital structure of the company, financing, and investing
    • Consolidate data from disparate sources to create holistic view of operating expenditures
    • Perform detailed revenue growth and cost analysis across expense categories and functions to support companywide top and bottom line growth objectives
    • Lead annual budgeting process, quarterly forecast submissions and business reviews
    • Support long-term strategic growth planning process to drive business transformation objectives

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
    • 3 years progressive experience in FP&A or financial modeling related roles
    • Mastery level in MS Excel, Advanced in MS PowerPoint & Word
    • Experience building 3-statement financial models (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flow)
    • Experience leading projects independently
    • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, geographically-dispersed organization

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Highly responsive, leveraging ability to multi-task, work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
    • Energetic with a proven ability to work autonomously and quickly adapt to change
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence and executive presence
    • Strong understanding of financials including Income Statement, Balance Sheet & Cash Flows
    • Ability to quickly synthesize disparate data and provide actionable information
    • Strong competencies in financial management and managerial accounting techniques
    • Knowledge of business processes across finance, accounting, sales, R&D and operations
    • Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures under GAAP and IFRS
    • High degree of business acumen to provide decision support in assessing business drivers
    • High degree of technical and analytical capabilities develop financial models and solutions
    • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning, business applications and BI systems
    • Continuous improvement attitude with ability and confidence to make recommendations
    • Familiarity with any of the following or related systems / applications:
      • OneStream
      • SAP (BW, Business Objects, SOP, CO, G/L, MDM)
      • Hyperion HFM (Planning, Essbase, SmartView)
      • Tableau, SQL, Salesforce
