Corporate Accounting Manager

The Role:
The Corporate Accounting Manager will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure
compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external
audits. This person will manage the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable,
general ledger, and inventory functions, as well as closing & consolidation of accounts and
preparation of reports in support of the financial reporting and management.
The Corporate Accounting Manager will report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with
others in the organization through analysis and reconciliation of accounts and through
development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational experience and
technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-
starter, flexible, of high integrity, action- & goal-oriented and ready to thrive in a fast-paced,
team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall accuracy and timeliness of financial accounting reporting
- Manage the monthly financial accounting close process, including ensuring all revenue and expenses earned and incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Identify internal control deficiencies and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to produce timely and accurate month-end close reporting
- Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts and account mapping.
- Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
- Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in general ledger and/or public accounting required
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing a staff of professionals required
- Public company experience preferred
- CPA, CMA or other relevant professional accreditation strongly preferred
- Cost accounting/Inventory manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Multi-currency consolidation experience strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- ERP System experience (Microsoft NAV, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JDE)
- Strong MS Excel knowledgeExcellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and writtenInnovative problem-solving skills and flexible mind-set
- Detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently
- Ability to work cross functionally to solve problems
- Self-starter, dependable and possessing the ability to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities
Annual pay range: $90,000 – $120,000
