Business Unit Manager – Material, Property, and Inventory Accounting
Lead the Material, Property, and Inventory Accounting function within the Controller’s organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Support ongoing and new process and tool enhancements within the Financial Accounting organization such as Finance Digital Transformation (FDT).
- Support and resolve IFS discrepancies and questions in support of Accounts Payable and Inventory accounting functions.
- Maintain IFS technical knowledge and be the primary IFS subject matter expert within the Finance organization.
- Support accounting aspects of SOX processes/controls/audits related to material, property, and inventory.
- Support accounting aspects of CAS, FAR, and DFARS processes/controls/audits related to material property and inventory.
- Perform Material, Property, and Inventory accounting valuation/costing to ensure accuracy of expense.
- Perform accounting aspects of material, property, and inventory transfers.
- Work with Strategic Business Units/Strategic Support Units stakeholders to monitor project and stores inventory for excess and obsolesce. Work with internal Financial Accounting stakeholders to process corrections, as applicable.
- Perform recurring material, inventory, property and fixed asset cycle counts. Identify discrepancies and work with Strategic Business Units/Strategic Support Units and Financial Accounting stakeholders on accounting corrections, as applicable.
- Ensure conduct is in alignment with the ICA framework.
- Supervise other Managers and staff levels.
- Hire appropriate staff to be engaged in the winning and execution of on-going business and programs for BATC and the SBU/Business Area.
- Ensure that performance reviews are performed for all assigned personnel.
- Ensure that proposals, programs, and other operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with BATC best practices.
- Manage the implementation of new or existing BATC policies and procedures and support SBU/SSU-level requests and special projects.
- Understand business and program requirements and document cost, schedule, and technical performance impacts of changes to BATC and Strategic Business Units/Strategic Support Units operating plans.
- Resolve business problems with management or customer representatives.
- Provide guidance to managers, department personnel, and other employees regarding performance measurement and governmental regulations compliance.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $136,000 - $187,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
