The Opportunity

Marketo has an amazing opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our fast-growing software company. This position will report to our Operational and Technical Accounting Manager who will invest time in the Staff Accountant's professional growth and development. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fun, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

This position will reside in our newly opened and freshly remodeled downtown Denver office, with a "Silicon Valley" atmosphere where the business is creating a Global Center of Excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Prepare monthly account balance reconciliations for accounts such as: accounts payable, prepaids, and travel expense accruals
• Audit expense reports for proper documentation and compliance with company policy
• Assist employees with questions related to the expense policy and reimbursement system
• Prepare weekly expense and reimbursement reports for payment in Nexonia
• Reconcile expense reports and corporate credit card balances
• Assist in monthly financial close activities and ensure timely completion of tasks
• Manage use tax reconciliations, filings, and payments
• Review vendor invoices for proper coding and approval prior to payment
• Assist in preparation of 1099's
• Miscellaneous projects as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting related roles
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and a detail orientated personality
• Ability to problem solve, both from an accounting and system perspective
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional project and time management skills
• Experience with large ERP system is desired
