Accounts Payable Specialist
Downtown Denver-based Company seeks an employee that possesses basic accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail and the ability to process a large volume of work with great accuracy. The ideal candidate must have 1-3 years of Accounting related experience, excellent communication skills, are excited to learn, and will take initiative. The best candidate will be able to work well independently, with the team, and be willing to take on various responsibilities. The main responsibilities include processing invoices, processing expense reports, and assisting with the weekly check run.
Responsibilities:
- Process various AP invoices including folios and utilities
- Process expense reports
- Scan invoices to Coupa as needed
- Code invoices to correct GL accounts
- Contribute to weekly check run process and filing
- Support the team with other projects as needed including 1099’s and process improvements
Required Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Software Expertise – Some accounting software experience preferably in Coupa and Great Plains. Proven expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
- Problem Solving – Must be able to solve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully and efficiently; and work well in group problem solving situations.
- Communication Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively and in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Adaptability - Adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events, appreciates opportunity to adjust and adapt with growing business.
Qualifications: Candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- One to two years of experience working successfully in a similar business environment.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while multi-tasking in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
