The Corporate office of Maxar has a new opportunity for a Manager – Accounts Payable. This key leadership position will help us initiate and lead the Maxar AP Shared Services function in Westminster. This position will support Maxar’s U.S. Shared Service program by managing the Maxar and DigitalGlobe Accounts Payable functions while putting in place a Maxar-wide AP Shared Service. To help with this new function, we will implement new procure-to-pay technology and this manager will be instrumental in that implementation. Along with the Accounts Payable duties, this role will have some general accounting and close support duties. This manager will also be the administrator for our Concur Travel & Expense tool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Initiate the Maxar Accounts Payable Shared Service program in Westminster and lead the transition of AP functions elsewhere in Maxar to the Westminster Shared Service team
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to successfully manage the Maxar Shared Service Accounts Payable program (of which DigitalGlobe’s Accounts Payable process will be a part) to ensure accurate and timely payment of all vendors
• Develop and administer Accounts Payable procedures to comply with SOX and GAAP standards
• Administration of the Concur expense reporting system
• Foster a customer service culture
• Establish and improve on key performance metrics that measure the effectiveness and service levels of the Shared Services program
• Develop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of department and business objectives 
• Analyze financial information to assist management make key decisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Implement new procure-to-pay technology to support the shared services program
• Manage day-to-day operations of the AP department, including timely payment of vendor invoices, annual 1099 reporting, support the corporate purchasing cards program, coordination with the Treasury department, AP-related cash forecasting, AP postings in general ledger, and cash clearing
• Support our efforts to increase electronic payment utilization
• Participates in month-end closing activities
• Provide decision-quality reporting related to AP, Concur, and other systems as required
• Responsible for monthly variance analysis and the AP monthly close reporting deck
• Other duties and special projects, as assigned
• Estimated travel is 10-20% during the shared services implementation process, decreasing as the function matures

​Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the work of 2-3 Accounts Payable Clerks, which will likely expand as we take on the Maxar AP shared service function.

Basic Requirements:

• 5-8 years general accounting or business experience; significant progressive experience in an Accounts Payable capacity, preferred.
• 2+ years at the supervisory level in an accounting environment
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.  A combination of progressively responsible experience in the accounting field, combined with formal training and education may be substituted for the education requirement.
• System experience: SAP, Concur, or other accounting and AP systems
